Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network (EREN)  The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) EREN provides information on programs sponsored by the DOE and links to major organizations involved in renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Energy Information Administration (EIA)   The EIA is the independent statistical and analytical agency within the DOE.  They provide all of the Official Energy Statistics from the U.S. Government.

Solar America Initiative  The Solar America Initiative is a DOE effort to make solar electricity from photovoltaics (PV) cost-competitive with conventional forms of electricity from the utility grid by 2015.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)  NREL’s Solar Energy Technologies Program supports the Lab’s R&D in two major solar energy technologies — photovoltaic research and solar thermal research.

PVWATTS   PVWATTS is a performance calculator from NREL for grid-connected PV systems.  It is a very useful tool.

Sandia National Laboratories The Renewable Energy Technologies Division at Sandia works to develop commercially viable energy technologies based on solar, wind, and geothermal resources to become significant domestic and international energy supplies, with a primary focus on the utility sector.

Go Solar California  This site provides consumers a “one-stop shop” for information on rebates, tax credits, and incentives for solar energy systems in California.

The California Energy Commission  The California Energy Commission is the state’s primary energy policy and planning agency

Power Naturally   Power…Naturally has been developed as a logo or brand for all of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) renewable energy programs.

International Energy Agency (IEA)  The IEA acts as energy policy advisor to 27 member countries in their effort to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for their citizens.

Photovoltaic Power Systems Program (PVPS)  The PVPS is a collaborative R&D Agreement, established within the IEA, and conducting projects on the application of solar photovoltaic electricity. The PVPS operates worldwide via a network of national teams in member countries.

Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC)  IREC is a U.S. non-profit organization dedicated to moving renewable energy resources into the marketplace. IREC supports market-oriented services targeted at education, coordination, procurement, technology transfer and linkage with national laboratories and associations, collaboration with industry, uniform guidelines, and customer protection. IREC`s members include state energy offices, other municipal and state agencies, national laboratories, solar and renewable organizations, and individual members.

Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE)  DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The Energy Foundation The Foundation`s mission is to assist in the nation`s transition to a sustainable energy future by promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy. It functions primarily as a grant-maker.

North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP)  NABCEP offers national credentialing and certifications for renewable energy professionals.

Solar Energy International (SEI)  SEI is a U.S. non-profit organization whose mission is to help others use renewable energy and environmental building technologies through education.

American Solar Energy Society  ASES is a national organization dedicated to advancing the use of solar energy for the benefit of U.S. citizens and the global environment. ASES has regional chapters throughout the country and is the United States Section of the International Solar Energy Society.

International Solar Energy Society (ISES)  ISES is an international network of scientists, businesspeople, and decision makers in more than 118 countries around the world.  Its mission is to advance renewable energy through research, technology transfer, commercialization, and education.

Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA)  SEIA is a national trade group for commercial enterprises involved in solar energy with regional chapters throughout the U.S.A.

Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA)  The Solar Electric Power Association is a non-profit organization with more than 300 utility, electric service provider, manufacturer, installer, government, and research members.  Its mission is to facilitate solutions for the use and integration of solar electric power by utilities, electric service providers, and their customers.
